Moisture, direct sunlight and high heat can affect powders, capsules and packaging. Start with the storage statement on the product you receive, then use these practical household reminders.
The basic rule
The label comes first.
“Cool and dry” is a general reminder, not a substitute for a specific temperature range, refrigeration instruction or warning printed by the manufacturer.
Keep the container closed
Reseal the pouch or bottle immediately after use. Keep the original cap, liner, desiccant and outer packaging unless the label says otherwise.
Control moisture
Choose a dry cupboard away from a sink, kettle, shower or open window. Never handle powder with a damp spoon or capsules with wet hands.
Avoid heat and sunlight
Do not store products in a parked vehicle, beside a stove, on top of an appliance or in direct sun. Heat can build quickly even when the room feels comfortable.

Matcha and other powders
Use a clean, completely dry utensil and press excess air from a resealable pouch when appropriate. Strong odours and repeated exposure to air, light and humidity can affect a delicate tea powder. Follow the pack if it recommends a particular place after opening.
Standard capsules
Keep capsules in their original labelled container unless a qualified professional gives a different instruction. Avoid mixing different products in one bottle, because you can lose identity, directions and expiry information.
Probiotic products
Do not assume every probiotic has the same storage requirement. Some labels allow room-temperature storage; others may give a stricter limit. Read the exact product label and ask the seller if the storage statement is missing from the listing.
After delivery
Move the parcel out of heat promptly. Check the seal, container condition and date markings. If the product arrived leaking, badly crushed, unusually swollen, wet or otherwise compromised, do not simply transfer it to another container.
